Red Hook is an area in Brooklyn which is in the process of leaping into economic development, in large part due to cruise lines coming in to dock there. As a result, Fairway (gourmet grocery) has moved in, with a water taxi from Manhattan right there (seen in this picture).

We went to Fairway to check it out and to attend the neighboring art exhibit. We also found a glass blower who does amazing work.

A little walkway for studios and work spaces. There are print shops, etc. (Lucy, look how far Red Hook has come!!)
