Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, is very much a port city and is reminiscent of San Francisco with its steep hills. This was the first time we got to a big city since we first landed in Auckland (and we didn't spend any time in Auckland the first time we were there).

We took a ferry from the North Island to the South Island. This is as the South Island is coming into view.

We are just entering the bay on the ferry during this picture.
